Morag Ormiston is registered as a Data Controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office under registration number ZB755710. She is responsible for the personal information processed and for ensuring Moonstir Therapy systems, processes, and associates comply with data protection laws in relation to the information handled.

Moonstir Therapy regularly reviews the Privacy Policy to ensure it continues to protect the privacy of clients and visitors. We may update our Privacy Policy at any time and any changes made will be posted on our website. Latest review is September 2024.

What information do we collect?

IP Addresses

When you visit our website, your IP address which identifies your computer when connected to the internet, will be automatically logged by the website provider.

A Cookie is a piece of information that is stored on your computer’s hard drive, we may use information from cookies to analyse the traffic on our website and help us understand how individuals use the site, as well as tracking any patterns which may emerge. This can help us to develop and improve our website and services in response to what our visitors want and need.

Social Media

Our website allows you to share content via social networking sites. In order to allow functionality from social media networks such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, third party cookies are used. We have no control over these cookies, so it is advisable to visit the respective social media site and review their individual cookie policy.

Website Visitors

No personal information has to be given in order to navigate around the website. However, any information which you choose to provide via the website will be added to our marketing database and used by us for administration of our contact and client information and potentially for marketing our services and events to those whom we believe will have an interest in these. On occasion it is possible that these messages will contain input from other companies or organisations with whom Moonstir Therapy is working.

We may also store and use personal information which you have provided on the website or during communications with us, during relationship management activities, provision of services and commercial administration.

We may share your personal information with service providers where this is required in order to provide the full service but only where appropriate contracts are in place confirming adequate security and protection of data.

Law enforcement

Moonstir Therapy may be obliged to provide personal information to law enforcement officials during the investigation of any alleged unlawful activities and we shall have no legal liability for disclosures of this kind.

Keeping data up to date or requesting deletion

Please help us to ensure the personal information you have provided remains up to date by informing us of any changes, or, if at any time you wish to request that your personal information be removed, please email the details of your request to morag@moonstir.co.uk.

Where deletion of details is requested, please note that there may be a requirement to retain some data in relation to any particular services which you may ask us to provide.

Current & former clients

Morag Ormiston is the Data Controller for information you provide during any engaged service or psychotherapy. Privacy Notices are made available per contract.

Basis for processing and storing data

Moonstir Therapy uses your data in accordance with GDPR:

· to supply you with the services and information which you have requested;

· to administer, support, improve and develop our business and the services we offer;

· to provide you with access to certain parts of the website;

· for all other purposes consistent with the proper performance of operations and business;

· to contact you for your views on performance and services;

· where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

We may contact you by post, telephone, SMS, by e-mail or via calendar appointments. If you change your mind about being contacted in the future by any of these means, then please let us know you wish to opt-out.

We may send information to clients or prospective clients based on our belief that the information being provided will be of interest.

Data will be stored on an encrypted drive or via MS Office accounts held securely by Moonstir. Occasionally emails may come from Googlemail for Zoom appointments. Email content will be shared to you containing your own data appropriate to the services provided. It is your responsibility to ensure your email is secure. Payment links are provided via email from i-Zettle, we do not collect or store your bank details at Moonstir Therapy Ltd. Payments made via invoice are done through secure Xero accounting software direct to Starling Bank, we do not store bank details.

Clients attending our offices in Peterhead and Aberdeen should be aware that CCTV and a Ring Doorbell are in operation used by our landlord for security purposes. The purpose of these is to protect the Company’s property and to provide a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors to their business premises. Moonstir Therapy is not in control of such data and cannot accept liability but has been assured that data will only be obtained, retained and used for security purposes.
